Kara Zial is a hybrid being, with the body of an orphan girl named Lily, and the mind of a human simulacrum bearing the name she ultimately chose for herself.
In 1375, she was taken in by Keket, as her parents had both perished in the war. At the time, and for years thereafter, she refused to speak, and barely took any action at all but to stare vacantly. It was believed the child was simple.
In 1378, she suddenly came to life, speaking fluently in multiple languages (including a dialect of ancient Imaskari), and showing a remarkable intellect and a propensity for mathematics, science, and Artifice. Keket took her on as an apprentice, and soon felt she was in danger of being surpassed.
In early 1380, while Keket was journeying in Semphar with Raynar Thrul, Kara vanished, taking several artifacts with her. It was later discovered that she had joined the Disciples of Adamas, and soon this would find her in direct opposition to Keket, the Guardians of the Weave, and the Yuir Elves.
In Eleint 1380, she was cornered in the Hall of the Makers, in the City of the Dead in Mulhorand. She was overcome, and taken captive back to the Temple of Isis in Aglarond. Through the use of a Shared Dreamstate, she was guided back from her path and turned against the Disciples of Adamas.
Appearance
Kara appears normal for a human of her age, with albeit uncertain descent. She stands just over 5 feet tall, with a slim, athletic figure. It is particularly difficult to tell her by such traits as skin, hair, and eye color, as she has somehow modified herself to allow her to change these at will.
Of late, she has taken to wearing a futuristic single-piece suit of tightly-fitting cloth, layered with various implements of Artifice whose purpose in unclear, and altogether as strong as a suit of much heavier armor. She has a helmet and a hood which can provide complete protection when needed.
She usually does not wield weapons, but can produce a variety of energy blades through psychic power or projectile weapons from dimensional storage.
Kara lost her right hand in a duel with Raithen Nightsong. She has since replaced it with a mechanical one.
Personality
In her early years, Kara was severely autistic. She never communicated, and was difficult to motivate to do anything at all.
When she "awakened", she became bright, inquisitive, and possessed of an insatiable curiosity. Her energy level exceeded all patience of her tutors, and she almost never slept, preferring to read, or to tinker with various artifacts of ancient technology.
Upon joining the Disciples of Adamas, she became increasingly distant, obsessed with grand, sweeping, universal philosophy, increasingly convinced of the insignificance of the world and its people, and of the need to annihilate both of them to "save the Universe".
Abilities
Kara is a skilled psychic warrior, whose expertise is in the field of infiltration. Her ratings by the Deep Imaskar PSI Corps are as follows: PM4 PP5 PK3 MC4 CS3 TP4, overall P4. (Roughly a rank 4 psychic warrior)
As an operative for the leadership of the Pillar of Law, her primary duties were to infiltrate and observe. To this end, she mastered the powers of invisibility, time compression, hypercognition, autohypnosis, and reimaging (glamers). She also has impressive telepathic ability; she is able to read minds, dominate wills, and reprogram.
